COMMENTS: CAPRICIA is one of the handsome 54' Alden aft cockpit, keel-centerboard sloops built in Portsmouth, RI at the Alden Yard. She was strongly built to be an "ideal" offshore vessel for a family. She is easily handled due to her electric winches, Leisurefurl in-boom mainsail and electric roller furling headsail system which includes a removable inner forestay. CAPRICIA'S highly experienced present owner has done an enormous six year refit which includes the installation of a new 80 hp Common Rail Yanmar diesel, new composite engine mounts, reworking entire engine room, new transmission, a complete rewiring of vessel with new panels and batteries in easily accessible quarter berth cabins. New Garmin electronics were installed, new galley design with Corian countertop, new Sea Frost refrigerator and freezer, new LPG Force 10 stove and oven, new 12V fresh water heads and plumbing. The list includes new S/S lifelines, new standing rigging, some new sails and much more. CAPRICIA is offered at a very realistic, attractive price.
The owner's intention was to comply with USCG Certification of Inspection certification to carry up to 12 passengers for hire. His plans have changes, offering an excellent opportunity for her next steward.
We encourage you to come and inspect this high quality, pedigree Alden. Thank you for your interest.
